NDIR | Non-dispersive Infrared Spectroscopy | Gas Sensor

A gas sensor using a patented miniaturized NDIR sepctroscopy technology. It provides quick and constant measurement to high levels of concentrations. It offers high selectivity and few interference. This technology allows the sensor to be very robust. The exposure to gases does not wear out or deteriorate the sensor.

Measurement method

Infrared radiation passes through the sensor’s measuring chamber. When air is introduced, the molecules of interest absorb part of the radiation, reducing the intensity of the optical signal. This measurement is then used to calculate the concentration of a specific gas following the Beer-Lambert law:

concentration = log10 (Intensity IR / Intensity zero IR) / Optical Length
